This guide is for you if you

  • Need a simple page

    A personal card site, an event landing page or a portfolio page: quickly and without a developer.

  • Are learning web design

    You want to do more than draw a landing page: you want to see it work live on different screens.

  • Are choosing a site builder

    You're comparing Tilda with Webflow and Framer and want to understand how work is organized here.

In short

  • Tilda has a free plan: 1 website, up to 50 pages, a tilda.ws address and part of the block library.
  • On the Ukrainian version of Tilda's site, paid plans are priced in hryvnias; there's a two-week free trial with no card to try every block.
  • A page is built from blocks. Ready-made blocks are for a quick start, Zero Block is for your own design.
  • Check responsiveness by hand: Zero Block has separate settings for five screen types.
  • The builder doesn't decide the result; the basics do: one goal per page, hierarchy, alignment, a limited palette.

Five steps to your first Tilda site

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Sign up and pick a plan for the job

    Tilda has a Ukrainian version of its site, where paid plans are priced in hryvnias; you pay by bank card. As of November 2026 there are three plans. Free: 1 website, up to 50 pages, part of the block library and a free tilda.ws address; a custom domain, form data capture services, payment systems and Google Analytics aren't available on it. Personal: 1 website with the full block library and a custom domain. Business: up to 5 websites and code export. For learning, start on Free, and to try every block, turn on the two-week trial: no card is needed.

    • after the trial you can go back to the Free plan; your work is kept, but paid features are switched off;
    • if a paid subscription isn't renewed, the site is unpublished and the data is kept for 6 months;
    • check current prices on Tilda's pricing page: they differ for monthly and annual payment.
  2. 2

    Step 2

    Structure first, then blocks

    A common mistake is opening the library and scrolling blocks until something looks nice. That gives you a page that looks like everyone else's. Start with the brief: who comes to the page and what should they do. Then write the order of sections on paper, and only then look for blocks for each one.

    • for a learning project, take an imaginary brief: a landing page for a pottery class, a café or a festival;
    • a typical structure: a first screen with the offer and a button, benefits, examples or photos, a testimonial, FAQ, contacts;
    • each section carries one idea; if you can't describe a section in one sentence, split it.

    💡 Write the copy before the design. A block chosen for placeholder text breaks as soon as real text goes in.

    Show your Tilda page

    A fresh pair of eyes quickly spots where the page falls apart on a phone or what's unclear on the first screen. People in the community share their work and get feedback. Come in, it's free.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Set the site style and build the page from blocks

    Before adding blocks, open the site settings and set fonts and colors for the whole site: Tilda lets you connect Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts or upload your own fonts. Then add blocks from the standard library and change their text, images and spacing. For Ukrainian text, check that the font supports Cyrillic.

    • one font for headings and one for text, or better, one font in two weights;
    • limit the palette: a main color, an accent and neutrals; check text contrast (for normal text, WCAG requires at least 4.5:1);
    • keep the same spacing between sections: uneven gaps between blocks are the first sign of a stitched-together page.
  4. 4

    Step 4

    Make one section in Zero Block and set up responsiveness

    Zero Block is Tilda's built-in editor for custom blocks: you place text, shapes, images and buttons freely, as in a graphics editor. It's the best place to practice composition. The grid width in Zero Block is fixed at 1200 px, and responsiveness is set separately for five screen types: 1200 px and up, 980–1200, 640–980, 480–640 and 360–480 px. Check whether Zero Block is available on your plan; if not, use the trial.

    • make the 1200 px version first, then go through each smaller screen;
    • on each screen, adjust font size, text column width, image size and block height;
    • Tilda highlights settings changed for that specific screen and shows inherited ones in gray, so you can see what you've already adjusted.

    💡 Don't build the whole site in Zero Block: one or two sections are enough for learning. The rest, on ready-made blocks, is already responsive, while every Zero Block has to be adapted by hand for five screens.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Publish the page and check it live

    Set a free tilda.ws address in the site settings: according to Tilda's help, the site stays available on that subdomain on any plan. Publish the page and open it on your phone. Pages show a "Made on Tilda" label; it can only be removed on an annual Personal or Business subscription.

    • go through the page on a phone and a laptop: is everything readable, are buttons big and visible, does anything overlap;
    • check that each button leads where it promises;
    • ask someone who hasn't seen the page to say in 5 seconds what it's about. If they can't, redo the first screen.

    💡 A finished page is portfolio material. Show the brief, which sections you chose and why, and what you changed after feedback.

Practice with a deadline and live feedback

The best teacher is a task with a deadline that other people see. That's why the community regularly runs design games: the same brief for everyone, a deadline and a vote.

Can I make a Tilda site for free?

Yes. On the Free plan you can make 1 website of up to 50 pages and publish it on a tilda.ws address. The limits: only part of the block library is available, and you can't connect a custom domain, form data capture services, payment systems or Google Analytics. That's enough for learning.

Does Tilda work in Ukraine, and how much does it cost?

Tilda has a Ukrainian version of its site, where paid plans are priced in hryvnias, and you pay by bank card. Exact amounts depend on the plan and on whether you pay monthly or annually; see Tilda's pricing page for current ones. Before paying, try the two-week trial: it needs no card, and afterwards you can go back to the Free plan.

What is Zero Block, and does a beginner need it?

Zero Block is Tilda's editor for creating your own block from scratch: you place elements freely and adjust them separately for five screen types. Ready-made blocks are enough for a first site, and Zero Block is worth trying on one section when you want your own composition.

Can I move a Figma layout to Tilda?

Tilda's help has a separate section on importing from Figma into Zero Block. But even after importing, you'll have to check and adjust responsiveness for smaller screens by hand. So plan in your layout how each section will behave on a phone. For the layout itself, see [Web design for beginners](/en/guides/web-design-basics).

Is the Spaceberry community paid?

No. Spaceberry Community is a free Telegram community supported by Spaceberry Foundation, a non-profit organization. All you need to join is a Telegram account. Inside are 1,504 designers who discuss each other's work, plus regular design games: the same brief for everyone, a deadline and a community vote. Conversations are in Ukrainian.
